IDENTITY WEEK

Identifying Yourself With Christ

INTRODUCTION

Christians have been blessed with an inheritance in Christ.  And the only way we can access and live a victorious life is by identifying ourselves with Christ. We are what we because of what Jesus has done for us. God took our lives and put it in Christ. His victory over sin, sickness, poverty, and death has become our victory.

For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ Acts 17:28 NLT

He took our place of shame, punishment, defeat and failure. And now the father has given us all things in Christ. God the father has already provided all that we will ever need.

Identifying ourselves with Christ comes with privileges.

Whatever that belongs to the father belongs to the new creation in Christ.

Everything that Jesus Christ bought and paid for at Calvary belongs to the Christian now.

That includes "ALL spiritual blessings in Christ"

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Ephesians 1:3 NLT

God will never withhold anything good from us.

The Child of God is called to enjoy the privileges that we have in Christ.

All that belongs to the Father belongs to us.We have been made hairs of the father and joint hairs with Jesus.

If the child of God is walking in faith and obedience then the privileges will be enjoyed in his life. If we don’t receive, then is because of our unbelief in the love of God and in the power of God.

Unbelief hinder all that God wants to do in our lives.

Unbelief is the mother of disobedience. It will produce fear, doubt, and all manner of sin in our lives. It will make Satan robe us of Gods best.

If you are not living in the joy of your salvation is because of your unbelief. God will is to work a change in your life, but many do not believe it. He is willing to impact blessings on His Children. God has given you a will and that you can hinder God with your unbelief.

If you don’t belief, then all the teaching will be of no profit to you.

There must be a broken conviction in your heart before there  can be a chance.

Act on the word

Faith is acting upon the Word of God. Jesus had said, “Come.” and as long as Peter acted upon that word, he was all right. But when he began to doubt, when he quit acting on the words of Jesus, he began to sink.

Doubt robbed Peter of this blessing. Doubt and fear go hand in hand, but faith and love go hand in hand. “Perfect love casteth out fear” (I John 4:18).

The problem that many believers have is a lack of faith, not a lack of power Jesus didn’t tell these disciples that they couldn’t cast out the devil because they didn’t have the power. He said, “Because of your unbelief.”

Every Spirit-filled believer has within him enough power to claim God’s very best for his life. If he is living beneath his privileges, it is not because of a lack of power but because of a failure to release that power through faith.
